Accessible Excellence at The London Breast Clinic!

Located in the heart of London’s Medical enclave of Harley Street, The London Breast Clinic based at 108 Medical Chambers is home to the original independent breast care team and includes many of the most highly regarded breast surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and oncologists. Open since 1991, the Clinic has been providing patients with continuous care, compassion and patience during their most anxious times.

Nationally and internationally acknowledged for clinical excellence in the diagnosis, treatment and care of numerous breast conditions, the Clinic has recently upgraded its digital mammography with 3D Breast Tomosynthesis to assist in the fight against breast cancer.

Until recently, the two-dimensional mammography has been the standard type of breast x-ray used across the UK. Although recognised as safe and reliable in detecting the early signs of cancer, 2D mammography can be difficult to read because of tissue overlap. And 15-30% of cancers are not detected by standard mammography screening. This percentage is higher in dense breasts and in women under 50 years. But with the newly developed form of three-dimensional (3D) imaging, Breast Tomosynthesis, the Clinic will be able to see breast tissue detail in a way never before possible, using state-of-the-art equipment. Instead of viewing the complexities of your breast tissue in a flat image, the Clinic can examine the tissue a millimetre at a time, thus allowing it to detect smaller cancers and providing patients with early detection.

With this technology introduced, the Clinic aims at offering its patients the most advanced technology to support life-saving early detection, effective diagnosis, intervention and treatment.

Hamish Millar – Managing Director 108 Medical Chambers, commented: “I am delighted that we have been able to invest in the latest technology for our patients, without a price increase, and also to support our first class clinical team in their work.”

The Clinic is the first in the UK to offer this affordable 3D mammography with a biopsy system. A routine breast screening mammogram and report is only £206, results are routinely available within 24 hours. If further investigation is indicated this can be arranged without delay. If a lady finds a breast lump that needs investigating, this can be done without delay as a Consultant Breast Surgeon is available every day Monday – Friday.

Another service available is genetic counselling and blood based testing for patients and families with a family history of cancer.
